Glyfada Breakfast

For you Nawnee!

Breakfast in Greece consists of cold cut meats, cheeses, sesame bread, fruit with thick cream, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and super fancy coffees! They put out a gourmet coffee machine with six choices like mocha cafe and cappuccino. And the juice machine had water, orange juice, and "multivitamin". We are now loading on the bus for our tours of Athens and the acropolis.

Accordion musician

Reminds me of my dad and brother

We are staying in a small suburb about an hour out of Athens. Our tour guide says this is one of the safest cities to be in and I think he is right. There are few people on the streets and tons and tons of shopping (mainly purses and shoes). The street cafes are really fancy and don't resemble our cafes and restaurants at all. Instead they are outdoor patio seating and they all have plus couches to sit on. No uncomfy wooden chairs! After having our welcome drink meeting where we met the 40+ girls and 5 boys in out group we walked down the street a few blocks to get a genuine euro! It was super tasty I asked for mine with everything and they put tsitsiki sauce, cucumbers, tomatoes, french fries and onions on it plus it was only 2.80£. Walking back to our hostel I heard this man playing accordion on the street for spare change. He was actually really good! Half the girls went out to a bar and the rest if us came back to the hostel to hit the hay. We have wake up call at 7 am tomorrow where we will head out to the city of Athens for a bus tour of the city and a walking tour of the coliseum where the original olympics took place!

SD airport on the way to Greece!

So we get to the airport at 6am check our bags no problem get our tickets and wait to board. The wait to board didn't seem too long, the flight however is another story. Right now I am only on the first flight which lands and Newark and is "only 5 hours" they told me. Well these are the longest 5 hours as we sit on the bumpy airplane with a baby who keeps kicking the seat behind me. Although we have to pay for the direct tv on the screens in front of our seats, we do have to pay for it, $6. I figured it was worth it since we did get a free meal on this plane which made me smile a little. A microwave able "Breakfast pita" with fruit and a mini muffin was given to us and I ate it thinking the real thing once I get to Greece will be so much better. So far I have watched When In Rome, Driving Miss Daisy and You Got Served along with a few random shows in between. If this flight is taking forever and its only five hours then I cant imagine the next 11 hour flight. BUT in the next 13 hours I'll be in Greece snacking on genuine feta and olives :D
